"Onda by Scarpetta" restaurant's menu showcases the unique flavors of modern Italian cuisine featuring a selection of beautifully presented seafood and signature dishes, including daily handmade pasta and traditional gourmet desserts. The new NCL Scarpetta restaurant is similarly designed to the land-based venues, with an interior featuring walnut wood and Calacatta marble.
On March 22, 2018, were opened the NCL Encore bookings on all Caribbean 2019 voyages. The inaugural season (November 2019 through April 2020) offers Miami roundtrips (Sunday departures) on 7-day Eastern Caribbean itineraries with call ports San Juan Puerto Rico, St Thomas USVI and Tortola BVI. The 2019-built Norwegian Encore cruise ship is the fourth (last) Breakaway Plus-class NCL vessel, with sisterships Norwegian Escape (2015), Norwegian Joy (2017) and Norwegian Bliss (2018). Encore is NCL's 13th vessel built by Meyer Werft (Papenburg Germany).
Norwegian Cruise Line is one of the few cruise brands with no formal nights. The line pioneered "Freestyle" cruising, which means you can wear just about whatever you'd like whenever and wherever you'd like. Soda packages run $9.95 a day and Starbucks packages $12.95 a day (the coffee bar is located in the Atrium on Deck 7). A premium beverage package including all beverages is $138 per person/per day. Bottles of water can be purchased on board as well, but there are also free “hydration stations” situated throughout the ship. Norwegian Gem may be one of the older ships in the Norwegian Cruise Line fleet, but it’s also one of the most popular. Compared to other increasingly-popular mega-ships, the Gem is downright intimate — carrying just under 2,400 passengers and spanning 15 decks.

A limited number of passes are sold to the spa’s VIP Thermal Suite for the duration of a cruise. And features saunas, eucalyptus steam rooms, tropical showers, ceramic heated loungers, hot tubs, and a large Thalasso-therapy pool, which propels forceful jets of water to create soothing waves. Lounge chairs in the women’s and men’s locker rooms and the unisex areas offer panoramic views of the sea.
The 2400-passenger Norwegian Gem is the 6th and final ship in Norwegian Cruise Line's (NCL) Jewel class, and the 13th ship in the NCL fleet. It resembles the Norwegian Pearl, which was launched in 2006. Ten of NCL's ships have been built since 1999, giving the cruise line the youngest fleet among the North American cruise lines.
